Corporate Investment as Venture Capital
PB invests in promising start-up companies all over the world. We support our portfolio with capital, technology, and a global network of potential development partners. We are active in sustaining these companies throughout their early critical years, from seed to later stage investment. PB makes direct investments in early stage companies that pass our investment screens and meet our financial targets. In general, PB:
· Seeks novel and game-changing technologies capable of supporting significant new businesses
· Makes seed investments in spin-outs from universities, government laboratories, and larger companies
· Invests in established start-ups as an active member of investment syndicates
· Participates closely in the development and continued financing of portfolio companies
Our Investment Approach
There are several things you should do to ensure that you present your concept or business, as best as possible. You must clearly communicate the key aspects of your company on the Entry Form, including a concept and a description of your stage of development; a clear statement of the market problem you are solving, and its scope; and your differentiation in the competitive landscape. It is also very helpful to include references and/or personal introductions.
The form acts as a brief, non-confidential executive summary. You will not be asked to share any proprietary information at this point. Again, confidentiality agreements will be considered if all parties agree to pursue the opportunity. Please review the content of the form prior to filling it out to make sure that you have all the key information available to complete it. RPB may ask for additional documents, but only if we decide to proceed in further in evaluating the opportunity. Some of this information will include:
· Complete Business Plan
· Relevant resumes for you and key members of your management team
· Detailed financial projections and cash flow that support your concept/business model.
· Capitalization table that describes current ownership of your company based on share holdings and funding rounds to date. Any employee option pools and all classes of shares should be included in this calculation.
· Personal and business references
